Monk_(Insert secondary profession here) Dead Sword Farming
Hi again (Yes, this is, in theory, ANOTHER 55 thread!)
In this 55 thread I will show you how to farm Dead Swords using the Monk Profession (with a resourceful secondary profession. the Mo/Rt rthread requires 50/50 use of its secondary and primary to survive. However in this thread, using the primary only, this build can survive).
Skills:
Shield of Judgement
Shielding Hands
Shield of Absorption
Protective Sprit
[Optional]*
Blessed Aura
Mending
Balthazar's Spirit
*Optional Skills:
Dervish: Mystic Regeneration (more regen FTW)
Monk: Essence Bond (good for energy management)
Necro: Spiteful Spirit (dmg)
Attributes:
Divine Favor: 9 + 3 (12)
Smiting Prayers: 9 + 1 + 3 (13)
Protection Prayers: 10 + 3 (13)
[insert secondary profession here]: 8
Strategy:
From Jokanur Diggings, go into Fahranur. Cast your enchantments, and wait for the skale to pass. Go to your right. Ok, if there's enough room in the gap to not aggro, go through. Cast your enchantments (prot spirit, SH/SoA) and just go through, don't attack them. When you reach a crossroads, run to your right, in a few seconds the skale should have broken aggro now. Now, go forward until you are just outside the group of skale. See them? Cast your protection enchants (the same as before), and run past them into the big group of skale. Now keep at least one protection enchant up at a time (otherwise you will most probably die). Cast Serpent's Quickness if you are a Mo/R, and Mystic Regen if you are a Mo/D. Now cast SoJ. You can speed up the killing by continuous attack on one of the skale, so you are sure it will stay in attacking until it dies. Keep your enchantments up. When SoJ has ended (f you are a ranger) it should have recharged - if not, wait. Use it again. By now most of the skale should be dead. Keep the procedure going until all of the skale are dead. leave the other skale. Go into the temple and watch out for the weights. Evade them as much as possible. Aggro the two mobs of undead and use the same battle tactics. Go through the Jokanur Diggings mission route, eliminatingeach mob as you go. When you come to the water djinns, that's the end of your route.
Drops:
Deadswords
Bones
Warrior Elite Tome (not often)

The title is a bit misleading, sorry about that - thought I could do it with Mo/R until I realised the degen would kill me. o_O

TS, not to dump on your parade, but this build and other builds to farm that spot have been around for MONTHS.
/D is the safest way to do it, but going /N for spiteful spirit might be faster.

XD why didn't I think of that. Oh well, I posted the build anyway, I guess - thought I could farm using an SoJ instead of a 600hp vengeful...

I think you misunderstood me. There's nothing wrong at all farming as a 55 here with SoJ, it works quite well. Which is probably why the post detailing that build is five pages deep or better in this forum, it's so well-known.

best build there? 55 SS.
i run a 55 necro in fahranur, and it's my favorte build there. not because it crushes the undead, but it handles Gedoss Windcutter as well. you can nuke him and his monk for an additional chance at a leet war tome.not to mention, the skales are a breeze. especially the big group, if you know how to bodyblock.
in short, i think the best build there is Mo/N SS + IP. i've even run SV there, which is slower but allows you to kill all the bugs as well, including the healers.
might want to add the options there.

Wow, no offense, but how many threads (That have already been posted) are you going to make?
The build above not only farms the Undead, but also the Skale along the way.
Also, here's another one.
Clickity click!
That's used in the Slaves quest, and also Fahranur.
Don't worry though, you're not doing bad or anything, you might even come up with a build that can farm something new and good.
